Most of the tech giants of the world have dipped their toes into the Virtual Reality (VR) segment like Google, HTC, Samsung and Sony etc. And according to a new study by a research firm Topology Research Institute, the sales of VR device will be nearly 14 million units worldwide by next year i.e. 2016.
The study foresees the increase in sales of these devices to 22 million by the end of 2018 and 38 million units by 2020.
The most probable reason behind the increased sales of VR devices is the relative reduction in prices just like Google Cardboard, through which one can easily experience virtual reality in a simple yet affordable way.
The experts believe that virtual reality is expected to go beyond gaming segment that will also be helpful in drawing people towards itself.
